Weekly Car Blog Post 2 - Adding Detail
Adding body details and panels
When I ended the last post, I had built the base shape of my car's body after using guide curves and reference images to bring it into a 3d space. Once I completed that, I began working on adding major body details and panels. The first details I worked on were on the hood and headlights. I added indentations and geometry for the vents and scoop, and also separated the hood to begin adding in the paneled edges.

Once that was done, I separated the headlights and added extrusions for the paneling. Since this car has headlights that flip up, I'm considering adding the underside of the headlights and making them rotatable if I have enough time.

After the headlights, I started working on the doors and side of the body, adding in the ridges that go across. I also made the door handles and of course extruded in the edges to prepare to connect them for paneling.

Finally, I added some of the small vents, ridges, and lights around the side of the body.

I still have to add detail to the back and refine some of the paneling and geometry, but I'm mostly finished adding details and major panels to the body of the car. After this is complete, I will most likely start on the glass and tires.
